The competition in 2008 was divided
into eight categories.
Each category is open to SMEs within
the local authority district of Winchester. Businesses
may apply for any or all categories. They are
chosen to enable local business to demonstrate
excellence in a number of diverse areas. Click

All entrants will be nominated for
this award. Business planning, clever marketing
and sound financials combine to produce strong
business growth. This award will be
presented to a dynamic company with fewer than
200 employees and demonstrating excellence in
all aspects of business performance.
This award recognises the importance
businesses are placing on their people in achieving
success, and will reward a local company, which
has excelled in the training
and development of its workforce.
Vision, endless enthusiasm and a
strong belief in oneself are all characteristics
of successful entrepreneurs. This award recognises
the achievement of such individuals in creating
and growing successful local businesses.
This award will be made to an organisation
making effective use of a customer service initiative
to deliver business plan objectives and demonstrating
improved business
performance as a result.
Presented to an outstanding rural
business that balances the need to be competitive
with a responsibility to the local environment
and community.
The eHampshire Online Business
Award
Are you using the internet to drive
forward your business and to meet key objectives?
This award will go to an excellent local business
making full use of the internet, for example to
attract new customers, provide great customer
service, manage relationships with suppliers or
control stock and inventory systems.
This award will go to an outstanding
local business which has developed new and innovative
business practices to embrace the challenge of
climate change. The winning
business will demonstrate positive environmental
impact through its own processes and behaviour
and is likely to be able to demonstrate an increase
in business success as a result.
The
Hampshire Workspace Start Up Business of the Year
Award
Open to young people over 16 and
under 25, this award provides the opportunity
to take an innovative commercial idea, or skill,
forward. At Southgate Chambers, Hampshire Workspace
will assist the winner using the experience of
Business Angels giving Accountancy, Legal, Marketing
and Business Management advice.
