One of the largest
financial services organisations in the world,
The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) prides itself
in being able to support local businesses through
regional commercial banking teams. Providing financial
solutions to help businesses grow successfully
in and around Winchester is key.
The team recognises the need to
support the future development of business in
the region and recently announced further investment,
increasing its Southampton and Chandlers Ford
Commercial Banking teams, in a move to enhance
the Bank's focus on building stronger relationships
with its existing customers and expand its new
business.
The Bank's expansion comes at a time when economic
data for the South East indicates that business
in the region rose at its fastest pace since July
2004. The RBS sponsored monthly Purchasing Managers
Economic Index in the South East has reported
that the growth of private sector is the sharpest
in almost two-and-a-half years, aided by stronger
gains in new orders across the region.
The growth of the local business
community is replicated with the increase of SME
businesses across the South where according to
statistics from Small Business Services SME's
across the South have increased by 9% in just
over 18-months. The Southampton Commercial Banking
teams provide key financial support to the SME
market that typically encapsulates local businesses
with an annual turnover of between £1 million
- £25 million.
The RBS team supporting Winchester
includes new Relationship Director Darren Clarke,
local Relationship Manager Barry Jones and Associate
Director Business Development Derek Hatton. The
team has over 75-years combined experience, providing
each customer with extensive local and industry
knowledge.
Commenting on the local investment
plans, Darren Clarke, Relationship Director at
Chandlers Ford Commercial Banking Team said:
"The significant investment
we have announced is specifically designed to
enable us to work more closely with our customers
to support them directly in meeting their aspirations.
This investment highlights the importance we place
on supporting and developing business in the local
community. We look forward to playing an integral
part in the success of businesses in the region."
